» BMC Nationals Event Location Change - Please Read |
|
Sep 04, 2008 - 1:14 PM - by Lisa

While tremendous efforts have been made to plan and promote this year's BMC Nationals, due to the low number of members planning to attend, I have made the very difficult decision to cancel the Kansas events, and make alternative plans for this year's BMC Nationals.
I am grateful to each of you who have supported our event and registered for the car show, drag strip and/or road course. Your support and enthusiasm means so much to me personally, and I thank you for that from the bottom of my heart. I am very sorry for the inconvenience this change will cause some of you, and the disappointment I know many of you will feel, as I feel it too.
However, my obligation to you is to do what is in the best interest of the club, both short term and long term, and due to the financial commitment of this event in relation to the members' support, I'm forced me to make these changes. While I regret having to cancel what we’ve planned for several months now, I have a fiscal obligation to the club and myself to be prudent and yet still provide an alternative event for those who wish to keep the Nationals tradition alive. Neither the club nor I have the financial means to follow through with the current plans and like any financial decision in life, we have to live within our means.
I would hope that this change in plans will not be viewed by anyone in a negative manner towards the great members of this club or the club itself. We have all been hit by the challenges of our current economy, and the BMC is not alone this year in having to face the need to change and/or cancel event plans over economic and attendance reasons. Other organizations with much greater financial backing have been forced to deal with cancelations as well. NOPI for example has canceled the remainder or their entire racing series, and others have done likewise.
The BMC is a family and as such, we have an obligation to each other to... [Read More]

2003 V6 Deluxe Coupe "Nikki"
Mods: Motorvation Motorvator throttle body spacer from BMCP // 17x8 Anthracite Bullitt wheels // K&N Drop-in filter // Custom Dual Flowmaster cat-back exhaust system // Spoiler delete // Mach One Grille Delete // BMC Window Stickers. I can't stress enough how much this club means to me. Before I joined in Oct of 2005, I had no direction in my life. I was failing my way through college and on the verge of a breakdown, but thankfully I found a group of people who loved their cars just as much as they did each other. In 2006 I headed to Dallas and for those four days, I was in heaven and had the greatest time with people I had only heard of just days before.
